Sunday solos, with an accompanist provided.
Singers who want to go further can take a solo at the Sunday morning service, accompanied on the piano. It is a sanctuary that seats a thousand, and for most people it is the first time they have sung alone in front of anyone since they were a child.
Nobody is pushed into it. It sits there as an option for the season you decide you are ready.

Do I need to be able to read music?
No. Plenty of the choir learn by ear and by repetition. If you want to learn to read while you are there, that happens naturally over a season.
Do I have to be a member of the church?
No. The choir is open to anyone in Sun City and the surrounding communities, whatever your faith or church membership.
What if I have not sung since school?
That describes most people who join. You are one voice among many and nobody is listening to you on your own, which is exactly why choir is the gentlest way back into singing.
Do I need to take lessons to join?
No. The choir is free and separate from lessons. Some singers take voice lessons alongside it and some never do.
Tell us you are coming.
You can simply turn up on a Thursday, but a note beforehand means somebody will be looking out for you when you arrive.
